The Berkeley Suite

Behind its art deco bar exterior lies one of Glasgow's oldest underground clubs. You will be seduced by its unique atmosphere and elaborate decor. With a musical style ranging from disco, techno, experimental and funk. If you are not a big fan of huge clubs, the intimate atmosphere of the berkley suite is for you.

Beware! The main entrance does not indicate the name Berkeley Suite, when you see the image above, you have arrived!

One of the things that sets the Berkeley Suite apart from other clubs in Glasgow is its music programming. The club offers a diverse range of music styles, including disco, house, techno, and funk, with a focus on high-quality DJ sets. The Berkeley Suite has hosted some of the biggest names in electronic music, including DJ Harvey, Dimitri from Paris, and Gilles Peterson. The club also supports local talent, with a regular program of events featuring Glasgow-based DJs and producers.

The club has taken steps to reduce its environmental impact, including eliminating single-use plastics, installing energy-efficient lighting, and using biodegradable cleaning products. The Berkeley Suite has also partnered with local organizations to promote sustainability and raise awareness about environmental issues.

THE POSITIVES POINTS :
  • Large room, space for dancing
  • Two bars, one inside, one outside the room with music, for those who want to take a break
  • Atypical setting
  • Prices vary, depending on the dj
  • Perfect for disco fans

THE NEGATIVES POINTS :
  • The ergonomics of the room: laid out lengthways it can be difficult to find your way through the crowd
  • Very dark room, except around the Dj
  • Location, far from Glasgow Central Station, may be difficult to find the first time
